Eckerd’s new Career and Life Design Lab gives you a flexible, walk-in space where you can focus on the career tasks that matter most — from polishing your résumé to mapping out graduate school plans. Here, you can work independently or get guidance from career advisors and trained student assistants whenever you need it.
Whether you’re exploring majors, preparing internship applications, practicing interviews or planning long-term goals, the Lab provides structure, accountability and easy access to expert support. It is designed to complement your classroom learning and help you take steady, meaningful steps toward your future career.
You can apply to OPT to work in your field for 12 months. If you studied a STEM-designated degree, you could qualify for the STEM OPT extension. This allows you to work in the US for an additional two years. With STEM OPT, you can work in the US for up to three years.
